... will smell just as sweet. Life or something like it through the eyes of the searching one. Searching for the right way to live the right life with the right person for the right reasons.

    Fire In Ya Belly!
    Thursday, February 01, 2007
So I started today at the VA with DKS and it is cool. Went through the whole access code and password, fingerprinting stuff for the better part of the day. I accompanied him to an OFA (Old Fart Administrator ... as one of my ogas would say) meeting. Quite different from our own meetings. But it was great. After lunch, he gave me some books to read and some practice tips. Let me tell you, DKS is the king of practice tips. "Fire in your belly" he likes to say. I'll try to put down the daily practice tips he gives me as I remember. He's like "write this down, this is a practice tip for you"

But my day did not start so easy oh. Firstly, there was this whole noise about snow the previous day an we were suppose to have a 7am meeting before going to the VA. I work up by 5am, no snow so the meeting was still on. I set the alarm for 5:30am an I work up by 6:23. I bathed and got dressed in like 10 mins. I guess that excuses the soap suds I had in full view in my ears. These yeye Southerns, they will never tell you things like that. Luckily as I was applying small pancake to my face in my office, I saw it and removed it.

I was supposed to give a small report at this meeting, Oga kpatakpata gave it to somebody else. No wahala sha. I'm just glad its over ... hopefully

Anyway, back to DKS he gave me 4 books to read
    1. How to get your point across in 30 seconds or less
    2. The 7 habits of highly effective people
    3.Principle-centered leadership
4.Knock 'em dead 2005: The Ultimate Job Seeker's Guide (wish I got this before last my interview)
You can see I have my work cut out for me. Anyway I love reading motivational books ... yes I'm a nerd. So f**king what? Are you just finding that out?

As for my January goals, I made some and missed some. I will be putting up Feb's goals soon.

    About Me

    Name: lala
    Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
