Overstepping Your Bounds |
Thursday, June 12, 2008 |
Last week at church I was kinda disappointed in the preacher, he kept making references to "20 dollar tithes" even when he was supposed to be praying. He must have made that staement like twice and I felt like, "ok, granted some people do not give as much as they are supposed to but some are doing the best they can. And maybe their best is $20." I mean, how dare a man who is not working sneer at twenty dollars when does not even bring in a penny. I was pretty pissed. He really overstepped his boundaries. Another thing that just baffled me was the talk about the church anniversary which they wanted to spend $10, 000 on. This included flying people in and accomodating them in hotels. I looked at alll the people in that little church. How many people there are in a position to be flown anywhere by their job or anything? I think we can do things on our level. The church needs to be focusing on bringing people who can help us develop better work skills and resources not to spend $10, 000 on anniversary celebrations. I mean we are talking about a little church. Anyway, thats their own. The day I have energy I will go to that church, if not I go to another one. Shikena. I hate pretentiousness. |

About Me |

Name: lala
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
