Happy Me Birthday |
Friday, April 11, 2008 |
Wow, I never thought I would be such a sporadic blogger. I guess in some ways, I not quite willing to go the route of complete openness and honesty (not that I need to anyway) but at the same time, I don't want to tell unnecessary lies to people to make my blog interesting or whatever. I really hate that.
So I just blog whenever. I will officially be 32 today. Am I happy? I am, probably would not have really remembered if not for family members telling me. You know there is a joy, a lightheadedness about living life on your own terms. One thing about high school is that it made me strong enough to follow my own heart.
So today I find myself really happy about the majority of my choices because I go to bed with a clear conscience and sleep well. All the things I have achieved are things I WANTED to achieve. I still thank God I did not follow people's suggestions to be a nurse, to marry so I could say I married at 24, 25 or whatever. When push comes to shove, who really cares what age you married at????? All that will matter is "Are you happy?
I'm not saying marrying later always equal hapiness but I'm saying marrying because you have met "your heart" and going to school for something you really want will take you much further than following some "mythical to do list" Married at 21 .... check, became a medical doctor ... check, had 10 boys and one girl .... check. Bull crock!
If that works for you, hey I'm down with you but guess what, its ok to marry at 35, its ok to be a freelance journalist, its ok to decide to not have kids. Bottomline, your life has to work for you!!!!!
So whats the point of this long spiel? Just wanted to say happy birthday to myself I guess :) :)
Love you guys Lala |

About Me |

Name: lala
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
