Smile Chronicles: The Black And White Of It |
Monday, July 07, 2008 |
Well, I went to the oral surgeon today to discuss giving me a perfect smile. Hmm, this thing go worry. It looks like it will be a long drawn out procedure. I have to go to an orthodontist first, who will start working on my teeth in preparation for the surgery. The orthodontist will put in the braces and align the teeth as much as possible in anticipation of the surgery. This will take any where from 1 yr to 1.5 years. Yes you heard me right! Then the surgery will put me in the hospital for a couple of days and recovery for 3 weeks. Liquid diet for good knows how long and then voila .... a great smile!
It sure sounds like a lot but I really hate my teeth. I have teeth that would not close making me to have a stupid lisp. And my teeth is also shifting so the gap in front is getting wider and wider by the day. I look like a hot mess! I know ... its not lack of self-esteem, its just honesty.
My honey thinks I should just work with the orthodontist and waive the surgery and I don't know. It can be a possibility cos things can go wrong during surgery so as much as possible I would like to stay away from elective surgery.
Well, I will talk to the orthodontist and see what she has to say. Wish me luck Lala |

About Me |

Name: lala
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
