Our Love Story |
Wednesday, February 14, 2007 |
It all started when we elected Cecil as our class president for 03/04. Cecil was the right person to be president because he was very hardworking, proactive and really on top of things. Now our class was the shiznit, unlike other classes with all their rivalry and cliques, our class was a fun loving hybrid of african-asian-african-american people. We knew were in there to do well and obtain our degrees but that did not make people unnecessarily competitive or hateful. We really flowed together.
You could read with the ethiopian group, african group ... infact, I can't even say there was any pure geographical group. It was not uncommon to see a Nigerian, 2 Iranians and 1 Asian doing everything together (don't kill me Larry for talking about you), we had nigerian, ethiopian and senegalese group, we had our greek fraternities in the house (one ubersmart and the other more bubbly)repping all shades oh. It was really beautiful
Back to the story, one day in February Cecil called a meeting for guys only. Of course all the ladies hung around to find out what the meeting was about. Well, they all lied when they came out about personal business of Cecil's.
Oh please! We did not believe them at all but we could pry nothing out of them so we had to let it be. Hmm, come val's day oh, as we were about to enter the class for Applied Therapeutics by 3pm and everybody was playing it was going to be quick so we could go on home, we saw rose petals by the doors leading to the classroom. Shuo! Whats going on here? I wondered as I entered the class jejely to take my favorite spot at the back of the class (where I could easily sneak out into the computer room and play chess)
Next thing radio appeared and Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" started playing and all the guys walked in all dressed up to the nines! Talk about hunks!!!!!!! I was feeling those fine-as-hell brothers, all 26 or so of them.
They started handing all the ladies roses, we were all screaming!!!! We screamed down the house abeg. Sotay people came to see what the ruckus was about. Music was playing, we had our roses, we gave them all hugs and life was beautiful.
I think that was my best Valentine's day ever. It restored my faith in humans oh. Cecil and co. thanks for making my day on that Valentine's Day. The day was off the chain.
Hope you all had a good day. Mine was okay. M called by midnight to wish me a happy day. Of course I did not tell him I'm not a big fan of valentine's day just in case so we talked and later hung up. Then later today I got an email from Babylove. Babylove hmmm..... I'll blog about him another day |

About Me |
Name: lala
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
