Sell! Baby, Sell! |

Ahh! Florida! It was so delightful. I think they will make me an offer but if they don't, I know exactly what I will be looking for at my next job interview. They really wanted me, I could tell. At least, Kuldip and MH(the director) really did.
The most memorable moment for me was when MH said "Stella, if the pharmacists that will be under your supervision want me to hire you, I will do everything in my power to bring you here. I will make you an offer that will be commensurate with your experience and your job description" That statement alone made this long, stressful two years of residency worth every second.
I really enjoyed the visit. At first I did not want to go cos I had never planned on living anywhere else but d.c but after talking to Kuldip at a conference in dec, I really liked him.
Sunday was cool, I got to Florida around 7pm and checked into the Ivanhoe Sheraton. Well, tried to check in at least. They did not have a reservation so I had to pay. I was a bit frustrated but I knew it would be taken care of so I did not worry too much.
Took a shower and got on the internet to catch up with happenings. I practiced answering interview questions then went to bed by midnight.Got up by 6:30am and got dressed. Went downstairs to check out and I saw this actor but gosh! I cannot recall his name to save my life!
I forgot to eat breakfast (well, I assumed they would take me out to breakfast :)) but we went right into the interview. Started with a tour, then I met with 2 of the clinical specialists individually, then went to lunch with Kuldip and MH. Then I met with 3 groups of clinical staff pharmacists, pharm techs and some more clinical specialists. Finally, I met with the management team. Funtastic!!!!!! MH is great. Talked about supporting me, mentoring me and helping me to advance my career. He even told me that there was a Nigerian community here (I pretended I did not know that already)because he wants me to have a life outside of work and all that good stuff.
And to think I did not even want to go!
Well, at the end of the day, Kuldip drove me to the airport and I came back home. It was nice. Everything went well ... I think

About Me |
Name: lala
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, United States
About Me: I'm an introvert. I love challenges and the "path less taken". I have discovered that life more of a journey than a destination so I try to enjoy each day. And if you've never failed at anything then you haven't tried anything outside your comfort zone. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with Memphis. I love the city because the people are very friendly but careerwise, this place will be a dead end for me.
